Introduction to INTELEK
Kelab Rakan Intelek Muda (KRIM) is a non-government organisation (NGO) which was established in October 2004 by a group of young Muslim professionals with one purpose in mind – to become an experience sharing platform about student life and career development among Muslim professionals, Muslim overseas graduates and those Muslim students who are now aiming to further their studies abroad. KRIM was renamed as INTELEK during its rebranding journey in July 2009 together with a new motto “Enriching Talents”.
Since the past 15 years, INTELEK has been successful in organizing many motivational talks and pre-departure programmes for the students in all major international preparation colleges throughout Malaysia. To date, more than 5000 overseas-bound students have participated in INTELEK’s educational programmes which include youth camps, seminars, games and talks.
This encouraging response from the young, highly talented group of Malaysia’s crème of the crème students is primarily attributed to the INTELEK’s unique approach of instilling Islamic values upon the students in a contemporary, youth-friendly manner.
INTELEK has also worked together collaboratively with several profound organisations and college such as Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM), Alumni Kisas (ALKIS), Kolej Mara Seremban and International Education College (INTEC) and invited very well-known speakers like Prof. Dr. Muhaya Mohamad, Ust. Hasrizal Abdul Jamil, Bro Shah Kirit, Ust Syed Norhisyam Al-Idrus, Ust, Don Daniyal, Prof. Dr. Hamdi Abd Shukor and Prof Ir. Dr Hairul Azhar Abdul Rashid in various programmes and talks.
To mentally and spiritually prepare the participants with the appropriate skills and exposure about the challenges as Muslim students overseas.
To educate the participants about the importance of being steadfast with Islamic lifestyle once they are abroad.
To provide a healthy networking avenue for the participants to seek advice and insight from overseas graduated Muslim professionals about career development and other career related issues in their respective fields of study.
Experience sharing between the professionals, current Malaysian students abroad and prospective students.
Motivational relationship built among these groups of people.
Inculcation of the notion that Islam is a comprehensive system of life which is contemporary and modern among the participants.
